The project area is located at the southern section of the
Anıttepe sports complex which is located right across Anıtkabir.
The sports complex is open to public every day of the week and
generally the locals of the neighborhood benefit from it. The
sports complex has been active for about 35 years and it is used
as a social center by the locals in addition to a sports center.
It was planned to build a multipurpose sports complex and a
swimming pool with social units, cafeteria and fitness area so
that it can be used by other citizens as well. Since the project
area is located right across Anıtkabir, a concept that is calm,
simple and has a respectful silhouette was tried to be estab-
lished that will not hinder the monumentality of Anıtkabir. The
open areas, terraces and the tribune and the swimming pool
were designed (via transparent units) so that Anıtkabir can be
visually perceived.
Proje alanı, Anıtkab r’ n tam karşısında bulunan Anıttepe spor
kompleks n n güney bölümünded r. Haftanın bütün günler halka
açık olan spor kompleks n n kullanıcıları genelde semt sak nle-
r nden oluşmaktadır. Yaklaşık 35 yıldır h zmet veren kompleks
çevrede yaşayanlar ç n sporun yanı sıra sosyal b r merkez g b
kullanılmaktadır. Bu merkez n d ğer kent sak nler tarafından
kullanılması ve potans yel n n gel şt r leb lmes ç n ç nde sosyal
b r mler, kafeterya ve f tnes salonu da bulunan yüzme havuzu
ve çok amaçlı spor salonu yapımı planlanmıştır. Proje alanının
Anıtkab r’ n tam karşısında olması neden yle tasarım kararları
ver l rken, Anıtkab r’ n anıtsallığını bozmayacak, onunla yarışma-
yacak, sak n, yalın ve s luet olarak saygılı, çağdaşı yakalamaya
çalışan b r d l kullanılmaya çalışılmıştır. Yapının peyzajında oluş-
turulan açık alanlardan, b nada kullanılan teraslardan, çerdek
tr bünlerden ve yüzme havuzundan(oluşturulan şe¦af bölümler
vasıtasıyla) Anıtkab r’ n görsel olarak algılanması sağlanmıştır.
